ELIGIBILITY

Those who are appearing for final year / semester examination or Bachelor degree in engineering can apply .

SYLLABUS:

Duration of the Common Entrance Test is 2 hours.
The Entrance Test question paper shall consist of three parts.

Part-I and Part-II are compulsory and the candidates have to choose any one subsection out of 14 in Part-III depending upon his specialization.

Part – I Mathematics :
This part will have 30 objective type questions and the candidates should answer all the 30 questions.

Part – II Basic Engineering & Sciences :
This part will have 45 objective type questions. The candidates should answer a minimum of 30 questions. All the correct answers upto a maximum of 30 will be awarded 1 mark each and for all the wrong answers 1/4 mark shall be deducted for each.

Part – III Specializations
This part will consist of 14 subsections for various disciplines, like Civil, Mechanical, etc.. Each subsection will have 40/45 objective type questions. The candidates have to choose any one subsection depending on his specialization, and to answer a minimum of 40 questions. All the correct answers up to a maximum of 40 will be awarded 1 mark each and for all the wrong answers 1/4 mark shall be deducted for each.

The syllabi for the 14 subsections of Part - III are given below and the questions will be set at the undergraduate level.

  3. MECHANICAL, AUTOMOBILE & AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING
  4. ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGG.
  5. ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
  6. PRODUCTION AND INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
  7. COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
  8. CHEMISTRY, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING, CERAMIC TECHNOLOGY AND BIOTECH
  9. TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY
  10. LEATHER TECHNOLOGY
  11. ARCHITECTURE
  12. PHYSICAL AND MATERIAL SCIENCE
  13. PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS
  14. SOCIAL SCIENCES

EVALUATION

Each question will have 4 alternative answers. The candidates have to choose the correct answer and shade the appropriate small open box against each question in the answer sheet with a pencil/ ballpoint pen (black or blue).Every correct answer will be awarded 1 mark and for every wrong answer 1/4 mark shall be deducted. No deduction will be made for questions left unanswered. Multiple shadings will be considered as wrong answer and 1/4 mark will be deducted.
